DJ Case & Associates seeks a business-oriented professional to lead financial, accounting, strategic business development, and human resources functions to support the team’s financial performance in fulfilling our core conservation mission.

About DJ Case & Associates
We’re a profitable boutique public relations, marketing, communication, social science, and digital agency working exclusively on conservation and environmental issues (clean water, clear air, healthy woods, fish and wildlife). We work with federal, state, and local government agencies; foundations; and non-profit conservation organizations, helping them communicate with the public more effectively about conservation. We’ve been doing conservation communication since 1986 and digital development since 2000.

Key responsibilities:
• Serve as financial/administrative advising member of the Executive Management Team:
o Provide financial management strategic vision, direction, and guidance.
o Participate in weekly, quarterly, and annual meetings to develop and execute the strategic plan.
o Provide timely and accurate financial data for management decisions.
• Develop and manage all financial and accounting functions, including:
o Cash management and cash flow forecasting.
o Develop, manage, and maintain all financial reporting.
o Reconcile all bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
o Prepare and monitor annual budgets based on key performance indicators.
o Compile and present monthly financial results to the management team.
o Prepare monthly forecast worksheets for project managers and report actual results to the Executive Management Team.
o Monitor project billing, working with project managers to prepare and release all client invoices.
o Accounts payable management includes establishing vendor records, maintaining current vendor information, vouchering invoices, and approving and preparing all cash disbursements.
o Prepare weekly management report on previous performance and outlook.
o Oversee the business insurance needs working closely with insurance agents.
o Review any financial- and/or insurance-related clauses contained in proposed project contracts.
o Prepare annual tax workpapers and review annual returns.
o Prepare quarterly GSA IFF reporting and payment.
o Coordinate and prepare all GSA assessment workpapers and participate in GSA assessment reviews.
o State registrations and reporting.
• Oversee human resource functions, including:
o Maintaining all employee records, recruiting, eVerification, salary, benefits, and deductions.
o Prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll for processing.
o Prepare all 1099 and 1096 annual returns.
o Maintain POP- Simple IRA compliance.
o Participate in the management of the employee wellness promotion program.
• Office administration:
o Oversee general office administration.
o Support and assist administrative assistant positions.
