Overview

The Legal Department, in conjunction with the Health Insurance Department, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legal aspects of health insurance, while also contributing to the mission-driven work of a values-driven organization.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  1. Documentation Review & Analysis: Assist in reviewing and analyzing health insurance documents, contracts, and policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including legal, IT, and health insurance departments, to support various initiatives and projects related to health insurance documentation and compliance.
  3. Documentation Management: Assist in maintaining organized and up-to-date records of health insurance documentation, including contracts, policies, and compliance reports.
  4. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the legal and compliance teams, such as scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and assisting with special projects, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in pre-law or related field
  • Strong analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented with strong communication skills
  • Able to quickly learn new IT applications (e.g. Microsoft, contract software)
  • Ability to work with clients, staff and/or consultants as necessary
  • Self-motivated to work well independently or in a team environment
  • Exceptional time management
