Job Summary

Huntly Baptist Church of Niles is looking for the person God is calling to serve as our Part-time Associate/Youth Pastor working under our Sr. Pastor. We are eager to welcome this person into our church family, to support and follow their leadership, and to worship and minister together for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This position reports directly to our Deacon Board.

Within the congregation, the Associate Pastor has a primary role to support and extend the ministry vision of the Senior Pastor within an atmosphere of servant leadership, personal godliness, Christ-honoring friendship, and ministerial excellence.

We are looking for a candidate who has a passion to help aid in leading and facilitating the spiritual growth of our church and leading the congregation. We also believe that a candidate should feel led by God to this area of ministry, that they should have clear and effective communication skills, they should have a heart for people of all ages, that they should have biblical leadership skills and that they should be able to help oversee and lead all other areas of the church ministry.

Compensation will be based on education and experience level.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

·        Participate in staff meetings.

·        Fill in when the senior pastor is ill or out of town.

o   Handle emergency situations.

o   Preach/teach/lead services.

·        Support the Sr. pastor in conducting the ministry of the church; help as needed with administrative tasks, special projects and campaigns, teaching, etc.

·        Be heavily involved in outreach, visitation to church members, newcomers, visitors and managing special requests from members to visit loved ones which they are concerned about.

·        Visit hospitalized members and follow up during their recovery.

·        Provide biblical counseling to church members regarding spiritual matters. Refer to professional counselor when necessary.

·        Pray for the senior pastor, other staff members, volunteer workers, members, and the church as a whole.

·        Oversee Christion Education Board. Childrens church, adult bible school, develop small groups.

Qualifications

·        Shall be a Christian and be in agreement with the church covenant and statement of faith.

·        shall be genuinely committed to the gospel and sense a divine call to this role.

·        will strive to have a servant attitude in personal and professional relationships.

·        Degree or working towards a Degree in the Ministry.
