About the Executive Director of Missions:

The goal of the Missions Director will be to lead the Missions Ministry with creativity and heart, by developing and communicating a fresh vision for the ministry. They will enhance current mission programming and initiatives and increase the visibility of the Missions Ministry through active promotion and consistent communication.

The Executive Director of Missions’s Responsibilities Include:

The effective Executive Director of Missions will:

Manage and lead the ministry staff, drive the vision to build excitement, and be a key player behind the scenes, making sure the administrative side is running smoothly.
Build strong relationships and connections with the staff, church, community, and mission field.
Organize the leadership structure of how the mission field operates and provide oversight.
Oversee the Missions website to make certain it has up-to-date information and can receive donations online.
Develop a marketing and fundraising strategy.
Facilitate communication of emergency needs from the mission field branches for prayer and funds.
Develop and grow annual fundraising campaigns.
Manage database of Missions donors past and present.
Coordinate Annual Missions Fundraiser.
Develop a comprehensive communications plan to provide further awareness of Missions within the organization.
Provide oversight of financial planning and budgeting.
Coordinate with Mission Field Directors on their planning and reporting.
Facilitate communications between Pillar missionaries and Pillar churches, and Missions donors.
Observe the field and bring back stories to share.
Focus on Liberia – churches, schools, and clinics.
This position includes travel (domestically and internationally – 30-50%).

A bachelor’s degree is highly desired.
A master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Preference will be given to candidates with over ten years of experience in missions that includes leadership experience in ministry.

What it’s Like to Live in Zarephath, New Jersey:

Franklin Township is a township in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, the township’s population was 68,364. Traditionally a farming community, it has become a fast-growing suburb with massive development in the later 20th and 21st centuries as a diverse blend of races, religions, and cultures. In 2008, Franklin Township ranked #5 on Money magazine’s list of America’s Top 100 Best Places to Live. Franklin Township was incorporated on February 21, 1798, as one of New Jersey’s initial groups of 104 townships by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. There are 17 unincorporated communities located within Franklin Township including Zarephath, a religious community in the western part of the township, where the headquarters for Pillar Ministries is located.

The public schools in Franklin Township are above average. The Franklin Township Public Schools serve students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Central Jersey College Prep Charter School is a comprehensive public charter middle/high school serving students in grades six through twelve that aims to prepare all graduates for admission to a four-year university. In 2016, the school was one of ten schools in New Jersey, and the only charter school, recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education.  Cedar Hill Preparatory School, a pre-k through eighth-grade school founded in 2003 as Oakcrest Academy, was one of eight private schools recognized in 2017 by the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program as an Exemplary High Performing School by the United States Department of Education.

Franklin Township has a lot of parks including Colonial Park, a 685.5-acre facility located in the western portion of Franklin Township near East Millstone. The park offers many recreational activities, including picnicking, hiking, biking, fishing, paddle boating, golf, and tennis. The park also offers a three-acre leash-free dog area, a 1.4-mile fitness parcourse, paddleboat rentals, an 18-hole putting course, an 18-hole championship Spooky Brook Golf Course, three stocked fishing ponds, softball fields, tennis center, playground, nature trail, a five-acre perennial garden, Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden, an accredited All-America Rose Selections (AARS) display garden, and the Fragrance and Sensory Garden, designed to be of special interest to visitors who are visually or physically impaired. In 2009, Franklin Township appeared on Newsmax magazine’s list of the “Top 25 Most Uniquely American Cities and Towns.”
