The Lower School Interventionist collaborates with the Head of School, Director of RTI/Special Services, and lead teachers at their campus to support student learning in Kindergarten to 5th grade. They are responsible for identifying literacy and math needs, setting learning goals and targets, and coordinating with teachers to develop individual plans for continuous academic growth of students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with data collection and analysis of data, supports the communication of findings with academic leadership
  • Teach targeted literacy and math interventions to individual and small groups of students using research-based strategies and provided instructional resources
  • Attend scheduled professional development to enhance knowledge of pedagogy and content, especially literacy and math
  • Maintain and submit accurate and up-to-date records of all students’ progress
  • Ensure that students thrive as they develop strong relationships with God, others, ideas, and the world
  • Know and love each student and family to promote their continued growth and development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Indiana License for assigned student grade levels
  • Three or more years of teaching reading and math with a proven track record of facilitating significant student gains
  • Orton-Gillingham certified (The Oaks is willing to provide this training.)
  • A devout Christian who is a member of, associated with, or seeking to be associated with, a Christ-centered community of faith or a church
